BUFFALO, N.Y. – University at Buffalo men's basketball Head Coach George Halcovage III announced the additions of two transfers for the 2026-27 season on Tuesday afternoon.
Antoine Lorick III // Senior // Forward // Augusta, Ga. // Cross Creek // Tennessee State
Lorick helped the Tennessee State Tigers to the NCAA Tournament last season as they won the Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament championships. He was fourth on the squad averaging 9.8 points to go with his 5.1 rebounds. He scored in double figures 15 times last season including scoring a season-high 24 points against Eastern Illinois (2/5) as he went 8-for-14 from the field. The Georgia native recorded a pair of double-doubles as he finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds against Southeast Missouri State (12/20) and 13 points and 10 rebounds against 4-seed UT Martin (3/6) in the Semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. His success carried into the NCAA Tournament as he scored 20 points against the 2-seeded Iowa State Cyclones (3/20) where he also added eight rebounds. Defensively, he tallied 13 games with multiple blocks including six against Morehead State (1/15). In his time at Tennessee State, he averaged 7.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game as he shot 55.1% from the floor.
"Antoine is an extremely talented and versatile player," stated Head Coach George Halcovage III. "He has great size, skill, and feel for the game on both ends of the floor. He and his teammate, Jalen Pitre from Tennessee State, bring NCAA tournament experience and winning DNA to Buffalo Basketball."
Jalen Pitre // Senior // Forward // Long Beach, Calif. // Long Beach Poly // Tennessee State/Pepperdine/Sacramento State
Joining Lorick is his Tennessee State teammate Jalen Pitre. In his lone season with the Tigers, he led the team in rebounding with 6.6 rpg as he tallied 218 total boards to go with their NCAA Tournament appearance. He brings a load of Division I experience to the roster as he's played in 84 games during his time at Pepperdine (2022-24), Sacramento State (2024-25) and Tennessee State (2025-26). In his career, he averaged 4.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. A lethal shooter, he's shot 57.8% from the floor in his collegiate career. Last season he shot over 62% in 33 games played.
"Jalen brings athleticism, explosiveness, and versatility to our roster," added Halcovage. "He has the ability to impact the game on both sides of the floor in a big way. We're fired up for the leadership and track record of winning that he and Antoine Lorick, his teammate from Tennessee State, bring to Buffalo Basketball."
