BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo volleyball program had their 2019 recruiting class earn High Honorable Mention honors from Prepvolleyball.com, one of three MAC programs overall to be recognized.
The rankings do not include transfers, but do mention the seven freshmen joining the program for the upcoming season. In all, the Bulls welcome nine newcomers for 2019 with the addition of transfers Monika Simkova and Lexi Nordmann.
The freshmen class is a diverse one that includes players from four different states and five players that are 6-0 or taller. Included in the class is 6-2 middle blocker Olivia DeBortoli, fellow 6-2 middle Abby Leigh, 5-5 defensive specialist Melissa Masotto, 6-1 middle Courtney Okwara, 6-0 setter Emma Puzausky, 5-6 defensive specialist Jenna Sonnenberg, and 6-0 outside hitter Morgan Verheyen.
Both Masotto and Nordmann spent this past spring season training with the program.
This is the first time since the 2010-11 season that a Buffalo recruiting class has been recognized as a whole by Prepvolleyball.com.
