
Women's Soccer Runs Past Binghamton, 3-0

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York women's soccer team completely dominated the Binghamton Bearcats on Friday night as they notched a season-high three goals in the 3-0 victory. Senior forward N'Dea Johnson scored her first goal in two years and Carissima Cutrona scored her first career goal to lift the Bulls in front of the home fans.

- The Short Story: The UB offense exploded on Friday night in front of the home fans as they recorded a season-high three goals in the victory over Binghamton. Carissima Cutrona finished with a goal and an assist while Kassidy Kidd notched two assists as UB improved to 13-0-2 at home over the last two seasons.

How It Happened
- The UB offense got off to a great start on Friday as Brianna Shingary had the first shot of the contest just six minutes into action, forcing the keeper to make a diving stop to the right corner.
- Julia Benati came close to scoring in the eighth minute but her header glanced off the outside of the post and out of play.
- After Laura Dougall made a huge diving stop on Stephani Church to keep the game scoreless, the Bulls were able to get on the scoreboard in the 25th minute. Julia Benati took a great feed from Carissima Cutrona and she buried her second goal of the season in the lower left corner.
- A couple minutes later, Rebecca Bramble had a great chance to score but her breakaway attempt was pushed away by the goalkeeper.
- In the 32nd minute, Celina Carrero made a great spin move on the defender to get free but her blast from 10 yards out was denied by Katie Hatziyianis.
- In the 35th minute, Binghamton had their best chance to score but Laura Dougall leaped and punched the would-be goal over the top of the net, preserving the shutout.
- As the second half began, the Bulls offense continued their strong play. Andrea Niper had a great header attempt that was turned away by the keeper after a perfect free kick from Brianna Shingary into the box.
- In the 57th minute, UB broke through with their second goal of the game as Carissima Cutrona found the back of the net for the first time in her UB career. Cutrona took a great feed from Kassidy Kidd and burned the keeper for the marker.
- Carissima Cutrona and Brianna Shingary had great chances to add goals later but both of their attempts went just wide.
- In the 77th minute, the UB bench erupted as N'Dea Johnson notched the first goal of her career after a great pass off the foot of Kassidy Kidd. Johnson went in all alone and beat the keeper to the left corner for the marker.
- Jackie Hall almost notched the fourth UB goal in the 84th minute but her header attempt was grabbed by the keeper.

- The Bulls had a season-high 12 players record at least one shot while Celina Carrero finished off her impressive night with four shots including two on goal.
- Freshman Meghan Simmons made her first career start in the midfield on Friday night.
