Dekalb, Ill. - Freshman goalie Ainsley Wheldon recorded her third 10-save game of the season, but her only goal allowed in the game proved to be the difference as the Bulls fell to Northern Illinois, 1-0. The loss drops the team to 0-3 in conference action.
After playing an even first half, the Huskies came out shooting in the second half, scoring in the 48th minute of the game off a corner kick. Northern Illinois took 13 shots in the final half to ramp up the pressure on the Bulls back end. Wheldon, who ranks second in the conference in both total saves and saves per game, held her own for most of the game.
The team will take a short trip north to face Western Michigan Sunday afternoon as it will see it's extended road slate come to a close. The noon kickoff will mark the team's eighth road game in a row and it will look to return home with a win against the 6-5 Broncos.
