David Beck enters his third season as assistant coach with the Buffalo volleyball program. Beck most recently served as a volunteer assistant with the University of Virginia.
Last season, Beck helped guide the Bulls in a shortened year due to COVID-19, but assisted in coaching one of the youngest teams in the nation, highlighted by freshman Milla Malik, who was named a second-team All-MAC selection.
In his first year with the Bulls, he helped Buffalo to its first MAC Tournament win since the 2009 season while coaching both Rachel Sanks and Polina Prokudina onto the All-MAC team.
Beck arrived at Virginia in August 2018 and served as a volunteer assistant coach. During that time he also served as assistant director for the Charlottesville Area Volleyball Club.
During the summer of 2018, Beck compete in the inaugural Pan American University Games located in Sao Paulo, Brazil as a floor captain for the USA men's volleyball team.
Prior to his time at Virginia, Beck spent two years as a graduate assistant coach at Georgia Southern. While with the Eagles, Beck assisted in all aspects of running the program while earning a master’s in public administration.
Along with his work with the Georgia Southern program, Beck also coached for the Arizona Sky Club. He worked with the 18U women’s team and helped the club to its first USA Volleyball Nationals bif in program history.
Beck played collegiate volleyball at Grand Canyon University. A native of Havre de Grace, Maryland, he graduated from GCU in 2016 with a degree in sports management.
