BUFFALO, NY - Two University at Buffalo women's soccer student-athletes were named to United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region teams, as announced by the organization on Tuesday. Graduate student forward Jasmine Guerber earned third team honors, while graduate student defender Frederique St.-Jean received fourth team recognition.
Guerber earns All-Region honors for the first time in her career after also earning Academic All-District recognition for the first time earlier this month. She was named First-Team All-MAC honors following a breakout season in which she recorded a career-high five assists, while adding a team-best seven goals and 19 points. The Montreal, Quebec native led the MAC in shots (58), shots on goal (26) and game-winning goals (4) and ranked in the top five in goals, assists and points. She took it up a notch in league play, recording a goal or an assist in seven of 12 games.
St.-Jean, earns All-Region recognition for the second time after also earning All-MAC First Team honors for the second straight season and Academic All-District honors for the first time. She rarely came off the field for the Bulls in her final season in the blue and white, playing all but 50 minutes and making her impact known on both ends of the field. The Montreal, Quebec native was a major factor on set pieces, recording a goal and putting pressure on opposing defenses by creating several chances in the box for herself and her teammates, while also serving as the anchor of a standout backline that ranked in the top 25 nationally in goals against average (.68) while also ranking in the top 50 in the nation in shutout percentage (.474).
