
Forlin and Futey Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

INDIANAPOLIS - The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team was represented by two student-athletes on the 2024 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team, as announced by the organization.
Senior Maria Futey and sophomore Manoela Forlin were named to this year's Academic All-District team. Both Futey and Forlin earned Academic All-MAC honors this season, as well.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
The 2024 Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Manoela Forlin, Sophomore, Opposite/Right Side, Graphic Design, 3.554
Sophomore Manoela Forlin appeared in 27 matches while being second on the team in total kills with 302. Her 3.02 kills per set was 12th in the MAC. She set program records for kills (27) and points (31.5) in a four-set match against Niagara.
Maria Futey, Senior, Libero, Exercise Science, 3.874
Senior libero Maria Futey appeared in all 119 sets, leading the team with 479 digs, good for 80th in the country. She averaged 4.03 digs per set. Futey also finished with a reception percentage of .939 and with the second most assists on the team with 115.
