BUFFALO, NY – Seventh year head women's soccer coach Shawn Burke announced the Bulls' spring championship season schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
Due to concerns surrounding Covid-19 the 2020 fall season was postponed to the spring of 2021. The schedule consists of 10 conference matches in a divisional double round robin format over a six week period between March 4 and April 11.
"I'm proud of the MAC for taking the initiative to put together a competitive spring season for our student-athletes," said Burke. "We have all missed competition and we look forward to this spring's format."
The Bulls will open the season on Thursday, March 4 at Kent State and will then stay on the road for a contest at Miami (OH) on Sunday, March 7.
Buffalo will welcome defending MAC champion Bowling Green to UB Stadium for the home opener on Sunday, March 14 before traveling to Akron for a matchup against the Zips on Thursday, March 18.
The Bulls open a three-game homestand on Sunday, March 21 against Ohio. Buffalo will then have a week off before cycling back through the MAC East with a matchup with Miami (OH) on Sunday, March 28. As the calendar flips to April, the Bulls will wrap up the homestand with a contest against Kent State on Thursday, April 1.
Buffalo will travel to Bowling Green for a contest against the Falcons on Sunday, April 4 before returning to UB Stadium for the home finale on Thursday, April 8 against Akron. The Bulls conclude the season in at Ohio on Sunday, April 11.
The MAC East and MAC West division leaders will face off in the MAC Championship game on Saturday, April 17 with the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
