SYRACUSE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (3-3-2, 0-0-0 MAC) dropped their first match in the last six on Thursday night as they fell on the road to ACC's Syracuse Orange, 2-0. The Bulls were outshot 21-11 for the match.

How It Happened
- Carissima Cutrona had the first shot on goal of the game in the sixth minute but the Syracuse keeper was able to grab the right-footed shot.
- The Orange had a great chance to scopre in the 31st minute but Laura Dougall was up to the test as she made a great save.
- Syracuse had a great shot in the 35th minute but the attempt by Alana O'Neill was grabbed by Laura Dougall.
- In the final minute of the first half, Laura Dougall kept the game scoreless as she made a nice save on Maddie Iozzi.
- The Syracuse Orange got on the board first in the 63rd minute as Sheridan Street tapped one into the back of the net after a great feed from Sydney Brackett.
- Junior Julia Benati had a good chance to tie it in the 73rd minute but her attempt was saved by the leaping Syracuse keeper.
- Celina Carrero almost knotted the game in the 89th minute of play but the Syracuse keeper knocked the ball out of bounds to give UB a corner.
- On the ensuing corner, Syracuse countered and Alana O'Neill beat the UB defense down the field and scored her fourth of the season to give the Orange the 2-0 lead and eventual win.

The Bulls will return to the pitch on Friday, September 23 as they open up MAC play against Ball State. First kick is set for 5:00 pm on Friday. UB will then head to Miami (OH) for a MAC match at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 25.
