BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (0-2-0, 0-0-0 MAC) will host Big 4 foe St. Bonaventure in their home opener of Thursday night at 7:00 pm at UB Stadium. The Bulls have won two of their last three meeting with the Bonnies.
The Bulls opened up their season last weekend at the Penn State Invitational with a pair of losses to Hofstra and #6 West Virginia. Friday night against the Pride, the Bulls allowed an early goal and couldn't recover as they fell 1-0. On Sunday against nationally-ranked West Virginia the Bulls put in a great second half effort but they weren't able to break through with a goal, falling 2-0 to the Mountaineers.
St. Bonaventure enters Thursday's match with a 0-0-1 record so far this season as they wrapped up their season opener at home against Binghamton with a 1-1 draw. Sophomore Marley Jarvis scored her first career goal for the Bonnies while in goal, freshman Lauren Malcolm made six saves in her first career start.
This will be the 29th meeting between the two programs all-time with the series deadlocked 13-13-2. The Bulls are 2-1 in their last three meetings against the Bonnies with St. Bonaventure winning the lone matchup last season 2-0 at home.
Buffalo will return to the road on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Binghamton to take on the Bearcats in a non-conference match. First kick is set for 1:00 pm on Sunday.
