
Women's Soccer Plays Eastern Michigan To A 1-1 Draw On Thursday Night

BUFFALO, NY – Playing in a downpour rain at UB Stadium on Thursday night, the University at Buffalo women's soccer team (6-7-4, 3-4-2 MAC) and the Eastern Michigan Eagles played to a 1-1 draw. Moira Petrie netted her career-best second goal of the season while Laura Dougall finished with seven saves in goal in the draw.

How It Happened
- The Eagles were able to notch the first shot of the match in the third minute as Gabriella Mancini took a shot from distance that Laura Dougall made an easy save on.
- Eastern Michigan got on the board in the eighth minute as Sabrina McNeill raced in down the left sideline and whipped a cross into the box where Michelle Rollins netted her second goal of the season into the left corner.
- After subbing in for the first time in a couple of weeks, Julia Benati made an immediate impact as she ripped a shot just wide of the left corner on a dangerous opportunity in the 21st minute.
- Buffalo was able to tie the game, 1-1, in the 24th minute of play as Moira Petrie found a loose ball after the bounce off the referee and she ripped a hard shot from 25-yards out that rang off the cross bar and into the back of the net.
- Carissima Cutrona had a scoring chance in the 37th minute but her right-footed shot was scooped up by the EMU keeper who went down to a knee to secure the save.
- In the 52nd minute, Sabrina McNeill had the first chance of the second half as she streaked down the left wing and ripped a shot just over the cross bar.
- Madison Hirsch had a dangerous chance in the 57th minute of play but her hard shot went over the top of the cage and out of play.
- Laura Dougall stepped up and made a big save on Rachel Washburn's free kick in the 71st minute to keep the game tied, 1-1.
- In the 78th minute, Laura Dougall made the stop of the match as she dove to her right to make a stop on a deflected shot by Mia Colavito.
- Julia Benati had a good chance to break the tie in the 79th minute but her low hard shot was scooped up by the EMU keeper.
- Eastern Michigan had the first shot in overtime as Ellie Tillar had a shot right on goal that was saved by Laura Dougall.
- UB had a great chance to break the tie in the 103rd minute as Julia Benati sent a good corner into the box where Carissima Cutrona took a shot that was stopped by Kaylin Williams.
- The Bulls had the final shot in the match in the 109th minute as freshman Adrianna VanCuyck hit a shot from distance that was saved by the Eastern Michigan keeper to preserve the 1-1 draw.
