BUFFALO, NY - Following a three-goal weekend, senior forward Katie Roberts was tabbed as the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Roberts continued to play at a high-level this weekend as she recorded a team-high three goals in a pair of conference victories for the Bulls. On Friday night, Roberts was all over the field as she netted two goals on five shots, including the game-winning marker in overtime on a penalty kick goal.
Roberts led the way offensively for the Bulls in Sunday's victory over Miami that clinched only the second MAC regular season championship in program history. Roberts scored a second half goal that put the game out of reach as she took a rocket of a shot that snuck inside the left goal post for her 10th goal of the season.
For the season, Roberts has recorded 10 goals and three assists for 22 points. She currently leads the MAC in goals and is tied for the conference lead in points following her six-point weekend performance.
Her 10-goal season is a career-best and she now ranks ninth in program history with 21 career goals. Her 48 career points also ranks her 12th in UB women' soccer history.
Roberts' and the Bulls will return to the pitch for their regular season finale on Thursday, October 30 as they play host to Akron at 3:00 pm at UB Stadium.
