Bulls Drop Road Match to Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, MI – The University at Buffalo women's soccer team played a road conference match at Eastern Michigan this afternoon, falling to the Eagles 2-0.
The Bulls and the Eagles played a tight first half, with the Bulls
just edging out Eastern Michigan in shots, 7-6. Taylor Thompson had
two shots on goal in the first half, but the Bulls could not get on
the board. Neither team saw a goal as the game went to halftime
scoreless.
Eastern Michigan scored their first goal of the game when
EMU's Chelsea Detrick snuck a header shot past UB goalkeeper
Amy Coron with just under nine minutes gone in the half. The Eagles
scored an insurance goal at the 75:31 mark to seal the win.
The Bulls were not without chances with Aubrey Stahl collecting a
team-high four shots, two on goal. Lindsey Bailey also had a
handful of scoring chances throughout the game, notching three
shots on the day.
"We came out with good energy and created a lot of good
chances. I'm proud of the effort we gave today. We're
close to breaking through and we just need to turn the chances into
results in order to win games," said head coach Michael
Thomas.
Coron had five saves in the game, with Eastern Michigan outshooting
UB, 15-13.
The Bulls continue their Michigan road trip with a game at Central
Michigan on Sunday afternoon. The match is set for 1 pm in Mt.
Pleasant, Michigan at the CMU Soccer Complex.
