Previous College: Went 4-2 in singles and 6-3 in doubles at Coastal Carolina University… Played fifth singles in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Courtney Johnson of Savanna State…also played four matches at third doubles, winning two of those by 8-0 margins.
High School: Graduated in 2009 from Jericho... Played at No. 2 singles her senior season and No. 3 as a junior, leading the Jayhawks to their fourth straight berth in the Nassau County finals her senior season... Was named her squad''s MVP as a senior after serving as team captain... Advanced to the All-Division State tournament in singles her junior year... Was on the No. 1 doubles team her sophomore year, where she went undefeated through conference and county play, earning All-County accolades after the Jayhawks won the Long Island and Nassau County Championships... Named Most Outstanding Player on her squad as a sophomore... Lost only one match at No. 2 doubles her freshman year, garnering All-County honors.
Personal: Born January 31, 1991…parents are Rick and Jackie Bates…favorite athlete is Anna Ivanovic…favorite foods are NY bagels and NY pizza…chose UB because it is in New York State, its great education and great tennis program…if she could visit any place in the world, it would be Fiji.
