
Bulls Make Statement With 6-1 Win Over Ball State to Open MAC Play

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team's title defense began with a dominant 6-1 win over Ball State at Miller Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
The Bulls got off to a great start as Blanca Berges and Liv Roestel won 6-4 at second doubles and Esmee Andresen and Maria Glowacka followed with a thrilling 7-5 victory at the first position to clinch the doubles point and give UB a 1-0 lead in the match.
Junior Julia Laspro gave the Bulls their first point in singles action with a 6-4, 6-2 win at second singles and Andresen battled to a 6-2, 7-5 victory at first singles before Berges clinched the match for UB, overcoming a dropped first set to win 3-6, 6-2, 2 at sixth singles. Sarah Hartel added to the lead with 7-5, 1-6, 6-2 win at fourth singles and Roestel rounded out the scoring for UB with a 2-6, 7-6, 6-2 win at the fifth position.
Up next, Buffalo returns to action on Friday, March 20 at Northern Illinois.
