Bulls Battle to 6-1 Win at Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, MI – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team (16-4, 3-0 MAC) battled from start to finish in a big 6-1 road win at Eastern Michigan on Friday afternoon.
Buffalo got off to a strong start in doubles action as Blanca Berges and Liv Roestel won 6-2 at second singles and Sarah Hartel and Julia Laspro followed with a 6-3 victory at the third position to clinch the point for UB and give the Bulls an early 1-0 lead.
The Bulls continued to battle in singles action as Berges won 6-1, 6-4 at six singles and Roestel picked up a 6-3, 6-4 victory at fifth singles before Hartel overcame a dropped first set to win 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 at fourth singles to clinch the match for UB. Sophomore Maria Glowacka also showed resilience, fighting back for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at third singles and Laspro battled to a three-set victory of her own, winning 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 at second singles to put an exclamation point on the match for the Bulls.
Up next, Buffalo returns to action on Sunday, March 29 as they host Miami (OH) at Miller Tennis Center at 12pm.
