Bulls Clinch MAC Tournament Berth with 4-3 Win Over Western Michigan on Senior Day

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team (19-5, 6-1 MAC) celebrated their senior class in style with a 4-3 win over Western Michigan on Sunday afternoon at Miller Tennis Center.
With the win, the Bulls have officially clinched a spot in the 2026 Mid-American Conference Tournament and currently sit in a tie for first place with one match remaining in the regular season.
The Bulls got off to a great start as Sarah Hartel and Julia Laspro won 6-4 at third doubles and Esmee Andresen and Maria Glowacka battled to a 7-5 victory at the first position to clinch the doubles point and put UB up 1-0.
Sophomore Blanca Berges got an early point on the board in singles action with a 6-1, 7-5 win at six singles. After Broncos then evened the match at two with wins at second and fifth singles, Andresen responded with a 7-6, 6-3 win at the first position to put UB up 3-2 and Glowacka cliched the match for UB with a gutsy 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 victory at third singles.
Up next, Buffalo will close out the regular season at Massachusetts on Sunday, April 19 at 12pm.
