St.-Jean Named MAC Defensive Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's soccer graduate student defender Frederique St.-Jean has been named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
It is the first weekly honor for St.-Jean and third for the Bulls this season.
The Quebec, native made an impact on both ends of the field to lead Buffalo to a pair of wins to open conference play. On Thursday, she scored the game-winning goal off a set-piece header to lead UB to a 2-0 win at Akron and then on Sunday, she helped guide Buffalo to its third straight, and sixth overall, shutout in a 1-0 win over Eastern Michigan. The Bulls lead the MAC and rank in the top 30 nationally in goals against average (.33), save percentage (.912) and shutout percentage.
The Bulls will return to action on Thursday at Western Michigan.
