BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's soccer head coach Shawn Burke announced the signing of transfer student-athletes Sofia Mastracci (South Alabama) and Kayla Pardini (Illinois) on Wednesday.
"We're excited to bring in two players we're very familiar with," said Burke. "Sofia has a tremendous work rate and will make an immediate impact in the attack for us. Kayla is a versatile midfielder who will impact both sides of the ball."
Mastracci, a 5-5 forward from Richmond Hill, Ontario, comes to Buffalo after one season at South Alabama in which she appeared in all 18 games and scored the first coal of her collegiate career in a win over James Madison, while helping to lead the Jaguars to a 10-win season and the number one seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. Prior to collegiate action, Mastracci played for Bill Crothers Secondary School and was part of Team Ontario 2024.
Pardini, a 5-6 midfielder from Smithtown, NY, comes to Buffalo after one season at Illinois. Prior to her time in Champaign, Pardini was a four-year letterwinner at Smithtown West High School where she tallied 19 goals and 10 assists. She was the 2023 New York State Section XI Offensive Player of the Year and a NYSSCOGS 2A Second Team All-State honoree. She also played club soccer at SUSA for nine years.
