BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo women's soccer head coach Shawn Burke announced Thursday that assistant coach Brianne Casey has been promoted to Associate Head Coach entering the 2025 season.
"Promoting Bri to Associate Head Coach is a testament to her tireless work ethic and unwavering desire to win," said Burke. "She has been such a vital part of our success and putting us in a place to compete for championships. She does it all, and I'm lucky to have her leading our group!"
Casey has spent the last six seasons as an assistant coach under Burke, including their memorable 2022 campaign that ended with the program's second MAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. Under her guidance, fifth year Emily Kelly cemented herself as the best goalkeeper in program history as she earned MAC Goalkeeper of the Year honors and finished as the winningest goalkeeper in program history.
In 2024, the Bulls defeated a Power 4 opponent for the second straight season and reached the MAC Championship game for the second time in the last three years.
The Columbia, Connecticut native has also been an integral part in the Bulls' recruiting efforts since joining Burke's staff, as Buffalo has had at least one member on the MAC All-Freshman squad in four of the last five seasons.
"I m so grateful for the trust and belief from Shawn Burke and the administration here at UB," said Casey. "This program is at such an exciting time, and I look forward to continuing to raise the bar alongside Coach Burke. Very proud to continue my career as a Bull!"
Since joining Burke's staff in 2019, the Bulls have accumulated a 61-22-23 overall record while having 25 All-MAC performers and 66 Academic All-MAC members.
