Three Bulls Win Individual Championships at MAC Invite

Kalamazoo, MI - On the final day of the MAC Invite, three of four Bulls in flight finals came away with a victory. The Bulls finished the fall portion of their season strongly with four of six Bulls winning on Sunday.
Sergio Arevalillo won the "Flight D" final with a 7-5, 7-5 result. Akhil Mehta came from one set down to win in a three-set thriller, 3-6, 7-6, 10-8. Tony Miller won Flight F after winning all three of his matches at the Invite. On Sunday Miller won his final match with a 6-3, 6-3 decision.
In other action Amar Hromic fell in the "Flight A" final in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 10-4. Noah Hajdu-Andersson won his final match of the MAC Invite, 6-3, 6-0. He finished with a 1-2 overall record in singles play at the event. Finally, Ethan Nittolo lost in the consolation final, 6-1, 6-4.
Head coach Lee Nickell is pleased with his team's performances at the MAC Invite, but also throughout the Fall portion of their 2015-16 season.
"This tournament is a very good end to a productive fall. I am proud of the way we performed all fall, and how we finished playing our best tennis this weekend. Our team is a dedicated group that has worked as hard as any group I have ever coached in my 11 years in this business, and we cannot wait to get going in January."
The UB men's tennis Spring season begins on January 17 as they look to defend thier MAC Championship from a year ago. Their first match of the Spring season will be against Bryant. UB's MAC regular season schedule will be released later this year.
