UB Men's Tennis Falls at ITA Regionals

NEHAVEN, CT- For the second-straight day, the Bulls competed at the ITA Northeast Regionals on Saturday. Pablo Alvarez was the lone Bulls to win a match.
With a 6-2, 6-2, win in his first singles match, Alvarez moved into the round of 16 where he faced Columbia's Rubin. In the round of 16 match, he won the first set, 7-6, before dropping the second set, 7-5. The third set saw Alvarez fall 6-3. As a result, he ended his time at regionals with a 2-1 record in singles play.
Alvarez and Hromic started their Saturday of tennis in doubles action. It didn't end like Friday's open round win, but rather with a 8-6 loss. After going down early, the Bulls duo battled back, but couldn't prevail over the duo from Brown.
In singles play Hromic lost to his opponent from NJIT in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
UB men's tennis is in action next weekend when they head to the MAC's indivudal singles and doubles championships. Play starts on Friday, October 30 and lasts for three days. The tournament will be held in Kalamaazo, MI.
