BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo men's tennis head coach Lee Nickell announced the signing of Onder Balci to the roster for the 2025-26 season.
Originally hailing from Antalya, Turkey, Balci comes to Buffalo after two successful seasons at Youngstown State. He is coming off a solid sophomore campaign in which he was named First-Team All-Horizon League after recording a 17-12 overall record at the top of the singles lineup, including 11 wins in dual matches, while adding 16 doubles victories, including a perfect 7-0 mark in league action. Off the court, he was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
He made an immediate impact as a freshman as he was named to the All-Horizon League Second Team after notching a team-leading 23 singles victories, including a 15-6 mark in dual play, primarily from the second and fourth positions, while also recording a 17-12 record in doubles contests. He was also the recipient of the Bill Dunn Scholarship and a Lester F. Donnell Scholarship endowment.
Nickell on Balci: "We are so excited to welcome Onder to the Bulls' family. We expect Onder to come in and make an instant impact for us in both singles and doubles. A leader both on the court and in the classroom, he will anchor a talented lineup as we push to repeat as MAC champions!"
