Softball Adds Vivi Vargas to the 2026 Roster

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball Head Coach Chelsea Plimpton announced the addition of Canisius transfer Vivi Vargas (Chula Vista, Calif.) to the 2026 roster.
After a great freshman season at Canisius, Vargas heads across town to join the Buffalo roster after starting in 47 games for the Golden Griffins. On the season, the infielder hit .272 with a .398 slugging and .339 on base percentage. Vargas finished with 28 hits including five doubles, a triple and a pair of home runs. She earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors as she native fashioned a .600 on-base percentage and a 2.000 slugging percentage as she hit a three-run home run in both games of Canisius' doubleheader sweep of regional rival Mercyhurst on March 18. Vargas closed out the week with a walk and an RBI in the Griffs victory over Little Three foe St. Bonaventure on March 20.
