
Five Softball Student-Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-District Team Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Five of members from the University at Buffalo softball team have been named to the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Softball Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
Upperclassmen Abbey Nagel, Bri Delaney and Reagan Terwilliger, as well as sophomores Emily Gorman and Genevieve Longsdorf took home the honors.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and they must have reached sophomore athletic eligibility with at least one full calendar year completed at his/her current institution.
The 2025 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
In her final season at Buffalo, Nagel started in all 56 games for the Bulls. She tallied a .320 batting average with 58 hits and 31 runs scored. The first baseman drove in 43 RBIs, the third most on the team. Nagel tied her career-high four hits against Boston U (2/7) while setting a career-high five RBIs. She hit three doubles at UMass (4/8) as she also had two doubles against Hofstra (3/1) and Ball State (5/1). Nagel cranked three grand slams on the season against Niagara (4/1), Miami (OH) (4/3) and Central Michigan (4/17). Finished her time at Buffalo tied for second with 46 career doubles. The first baseman recorded the most putouts in a career at UB with 1,208. Nagel holds the top fielding percentage in a career with .994. Tallied 98 RBIs at Buffalo, the fourth most in program history. Scored the second most runs in a career with 101. Her 18 home runs are tied for fifth in a career. Totaling 193 hits, one of four Bulls to reach the 190-hit mark. Ended her collegiate career starting in all 204 games, the most by a Bull in program history in a four-year stretch. In her senior campaign, she earned Second-Team All-MAC honors. This marks her second CSC Academic All-District honor.
Delaney, the stout third baseman started all 56 games at the hot corner. She hit .376 with 64 hits. Her 64 hits ranked third on the team and is fourth in a single season in program history. The Lockport native tipped 16 doubles, the most in 10 seasons by a Bulls, good for the fourth most in a single season in program history, also ranked fifth in the MAC and 47th in the NCAA at the end of the regular season. Led the Bulls with 60 RBIs, good for 35th in the country and second in the MAC. Had a career-high four hits against Miami (OH) (4/3). Drove in a career-high seven RBIs at Toledo (4/24) where she hit a two-run home run and a grand slam. Tallied 101 total bases on the season. Finished with 23 extra base hits, seven of which going for home runs. Defensively, she finished with 63 putouts, 115 assists and a .957 fielding percentage. The junior went on to earn First-Team All-MAC honors. This is her first CSC Academic All-District honor.
Longsdorf, a sophomore pitcher, led the Bulls with 133.2 innings pitched. In 38 appearances, Longsdorf made 23 starts as she finished with a 9-10 record with three saves. Her nine complete games were the most on the team, went 5-4 in those games including wins over Kent State (3/20), Canisius (3/25), Bowling Green (3/27), Niagara (4/1) and Le Moyne (4/15). She led the Bulls with 54 strikeouts while recording a season-high six strikeouts against Bowling Green (3/27) and Ball State (5/1). She allowed just four hits in her wins over Kent State (3/20) and Niagara (4/1). Longsdorf tossed a career-high 7.2 innings pitched at UMass (4/8).
Junior center fielder Terwilliger started all 56 games for the Bulls. She set the career triples program record at 13 following eight triples on the season. Batting .390 with 67 hits, this was the second most on the team and third most in a single season in program history. The speed demon scored a program single season record 62 runs which ranked second in the MAC and 25th in the NCAA at the conclusion of the regular season. Her eight triples were the second most in the nation. Terwilliger set a career-high four RBIs against Central Michigan (4/17. The Arizona native set the single season stolen base record with 31, breaking a 16-year record. Terwilliger's 31 stolen bases ranked first in the MAC and 11th in college softball. Her .939 stolen base percentage was the top mark in the league and seventh in the country. She ranks second in program history with 52 career stolen bases. She earned Second-Team All-MAC honors this season. This is her first CSC Academic All-District honor.
Gorman had an excellent sophomore season as the Bulls' DP and outfielder. She played in all 56 games with 55 starts. Gorman hit .351 in her sophomore campaign racking up 61 hits. Her 61 hits were the fourth most on the team and ranks fifth in program history for a single season. The sophomore earned 37 walks, tied for the most in a single season in program history. Her 45 runs scored was third on the team and is third in program history in an individual season. She stole 22 bases, the fourth most in program history in a season. Gorman recorded a career-high four hits at Bowling Green (3/28) and at UMass (4/8). She tied a career-high three runs scored against Boston U (2/7), Bowling Green (3/28) and Le Moyne (4/15). The Buffalo native drove in three runs against Boston U (2/7) and UMass (4/8).
