Softball Adds a Pair of Local Products to the 2027 Roster

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball Head Coach Chelsea Plimpton announced the addition of Niagara transfer Ella Sheehan (West Seneca, N.Y.) and Starpoint graduate Natalie Prezioso (Sanborn, N.Y.) to the 2027 roster on Monday afternoon.
Ella Sheehan // Catcher // Sophomore // West Seneca, N.Y. // Orchard Park // Niagara
The catcher appeared in 34 games with 29 starts for the Niagara Purple Eagles in her freshman campaign. She tallied a .171 batting average with a total of 13 hits, three of which went for extra bases. Had a career-high two hits against Mount St. Mary's (4/4) and Youngstown State (4/7). Defensively she threw out two runners on the season against Binghamton (3/6) and Colgate (3/10).
Prior to Niagara, Sheehan was a Second-Team All-State honoree her senior season. She also took home First-Team All-WNY Large School honors and Section VI ECIC First Team honors. At Orchard Park, she was the Quakers' captain.
Natalie Prezioso // Outfield // Freshman // Starpoint // Sanborn, N.Y.
A three-sport athlete, Prezioso hit .387 with a .426 OBP, 19 stolen bases, 22 runs scored and a .981 fielding percentage, earning first team All-ECIC II for the second straight year and Defensive MVP as a senior. She was the coach's MVP as a junior. She guided the Spartans to the Section VI Championship in her senior season. The Female Athlete of the Year at Starpoint, also earned first team All-ECIC II in both basketball and field hockey in her senior year.
