Track and Field to Hit the Road for William and Mary Colonial Relays

BUFFALO, N.Y. β The University at Buffalo track and field teams will travel to Williamsburg, Va. for the Colonial Relays at the College of William and Mary. The two day meet will begin on Friday, April 2 and run through Saturday, April 3. This will be the Bulls' first outdoor road trip since the 2019 outdoor season. The Bulls are familiar with William and Mary as they participated at their 2019 quad meet.

LAST TIME OUT
Last week at the UB Mid-Week Invitational, both the men's and women's teams won their home meet. The Bulls dominated from start to finish as the men's team earned 233 points with the women's squad earning 225 points.

In the women's 100-meter dash, it was full steam ahead as Priscilla Faa (12.42-seconds), Antoinette Miller (12.66-seconds), Travasia Singletary (12.68-seconds), Christina Wende (12.86-seconds) and Jalasia Demember (13.24-seconds) would finished 1-2-3-4-5, respectively.

It wouldn't stop there, in the 200-metere dash, Kamryn Hodges would win with a time of 25.97-seconds with Emma Seiders (26.46-seconds, second place), Samantha Shea (26.51-seconds, third place) and Kiaya Franklin (26.87-seconds, fourth place) right behind Hodges.

Thomas Flannery and Benjamin Cardamone had great races in both the 800 and 1,500-meter runs. Flannery won the 800 in 1:58.80 and finished second in the 1,500 in 3:52.42. Cardamone finished second in the 800 with a time of 1:59.05 but would win the 1,500 in 3:51.91. Flannery ranks eighth in the UB record books in the 1,500 as Cardamone ranks seventh.

Rachel Donner had a day as she won both the shot put (12.63-meters) and the discus (42.51-meters). Jonathan Surdej (16.34-meters) and Sam Wray (51.38-meters) would join Donner with shot put and discus wins, respectively.

Samantha Hjelmar's dominance from the indoor season carries over to the outdoor season as she won the women's high jump with a height of 1.67-meters (5'-05.75").

The Bulls would take the top-three positions in the women's long jump with Wende leading the way with a leap of 5.55-meters. Samantha Spinella finished second with 5.40-meters as Naiomi Meran claimed third with 5.13-meters. Nisa Raqib won the women's triple jump with a distance of 10.92-meters.

Freshman Imahni Sinclair won the women's hammer throw with a toss of 50.54-meters. On the men's side, Caleb Nickens would win with a distance of 56.60-meters.
