
Bulls Crack Open the Record Books at William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. β The University at Buffalo track and field completed the final day of competition at the 55th Annual Colonial Relays at William & Mary on Saturday afternoon.

The men's distance team had an un-Bull-ievable weekend in Virginia. In the 10,000-meter run, four Bulls broke into the record books. William Hilbert set a new school record with a time of 29:35.71 while finishing second overall. Behind Hilbert was Armani Merlino who finished fifth in a time of 29:44.30, now second all-time at UB. The Bulls weren't done there as Scott Loforte claimed a time of 29:51.99, good for fourth all-time and Benjamin Cardamone finished in 30:05.10 for fifth all-time.

Caleb Nickens was just shy of his personal-best in the hammer throw placing third with a toss of 182'-1". Sam Wray won the Colonial Relay discus throw by 3-feet with a throw of 167'-7". For the women, Rachel Donner had a personal-best in the discus throw by over 5-feet and took second place overall.

The women's triple jumpers, Christina Wende and Kaylah Britt, placed well tying for third place with jumps of 37'-10.00".

In the men's 200-meter dash, Jaron Meyer had another break-through performance placing second with a new personal-best time of 21.88-seconds. Jeremy Lissade placed sixth of the 36-man field with a time of 22.53-seconds. Priscilla Faa ran a season's best in the 200-meter dash in 25.49-seconds.

The women took third in the 4x400-meter relay with the group of Faa, Villarini, Benussi and Shapiro finishing in 3:57.54.

"It was great to get our team to the quality meet of Colonial Relays," stated Head Coach Vicki Mitchell.Β "Several Bulls showed nice improvements over the course of the weekend."
