NAPA, CA – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team wrapped up play at the College Tennis Invitational with a singles victory by Sophomore Ethan Nittolo. Doubles action was cancelled as well as two of the four singles matches.
"This weekend was a perfect start for the guys," stated head coach Lee Nickell. "We had great competition, we learned a lot and we got to bond with three of the new guys. I can't thank Quinn and Katie of Silverado Resort, all of the people who housed the players, and Jay Udwadia for inviting us to this tournament. We have a good idea of areas that we need to improve as we move forward, and look forward to Binghamton in two weeks."
Ethan Nittolo was the lone Buffalo player to collect a victory on Sunday as he downed Roper from Oklahoma State by the score of 7-5, 6-3. In the only other match of the day, Scaglia from OSU downed Filip Grbic by the score of 7-6, 6-3.
The Bulls went 1-1 on the afternoon as a pair of singles matches and the two doubles matches didn't happen on Sunday.
Buffalo will return to the court on Friday, September 23 as they head to the Binghamton Invitational.
