What They Are Saying
- Head coach Shawn Burke: "We knew that we were going to be under a lot of pressure all weekend and that is why we scheduled these two good teams. We were under duress for pretty much 90 minutes but we showed fight until the very end, especially in the last five minutes when we nearly got a goal back. If the girls buy into the process, we will be just fine. We can't get too discouraged because this is part of it. We had some flashes and moments but now we have to deal with some adversity and move forward from here."
Player Of The Match
Following the match, Julia Benati was named Player of the Match after her strong effort offensively in the season opener.
