UB Men's Tennis Ranks 10th In Final ITA Regional Rankings

SKILLMAN, NJ – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York men's tennis team ranked 10th in the final Northeast Region poll by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Eight of the nine teams ahead of the Bulls in the regional rankings were Ivy League squads, six of which UB played during its spring season.
In April, the Bulls won the 2015 Mid-American Conference Tournament for the first time in program history. UB claimed the title as the fourth seed knocking off top-seeded Northern Illinois, 4-2, and third-seeded Binghamton, 4-2, in the championship match. MAC Coach of the Year, Lee Nickell, led the Bulls (12-11) to their fourth MAC Tournament championship match appearance in six years and advanced UB to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
UB's 2014-15 squad featured All-MAC Second-Team selections senior Damien David and junior Pablo Alvarez. Alvarez, the MAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, was joined by classmate Amar Hromic on the all-tournament team. David and sophomore Jonathan Hannestad tallied Academic All-MAC recognition. The Bulls had MAC Singles Players of the Week on four occasions and thrice tallied MAC Doubles Team of the Week nods.
