
Bulls Rebound to Defeat Bryant, 6-1

GREENVILLE, RI – Playing its second match in less than 24 hours, the University at Buffalo men's tennis team rebounded from a morning loss to Brown to knock off Bryant, 6-1, on Saturday evening at the Rally Point Racquet Club.
The Bulls swept the doubles matches to earn the opening point. Top duo Marcelo Mazzetto and Mitch Zenaty downed Hart Callahan and Nolan Gelman, 8-4. Number two pair Wojciech Starakiewicz and Travis Zappia defeated Nicholai Hill and Connor Crowley, 8-3. The number three team of Vusa Hove and Alex Kalinin also picked up a win with a 9-7 decision over Vidith Huot and Dana Parziale.
UB won five of the six singles matches to finish off the Bulldogs. Starakiewicz rolled to 6-1, 6-1 win at number one over Cristian Balestieri. Also picking up singles victories were George Tibil at number two, Hove at number four, Zenaty at number five and Zappia at number six.
"The guys came out with better intensity today and it showed in our results," said head coach Lee Nickell. "We still aren't as sharp as we would like to be but we have learned a lot and plan on being better prepared for a good Duquesne team."
The Bulls (1-1) return to Western New York to face Duquesne on Sunday, January 30 in Olean.
