Previous College: Spent two seasons at Long Beach State, redshirting this past year. She comes to UB with three years of eligibility left. Will be the tallest player in UB volleyball history.
High School: Four-year letterwinner in volleyball at Eden Prairie High School for head coach Chad Becke...twice the most improved player, while leading the Eagles to a third-place finish in their conference...a member of the USA Junior National A2 team, Manuel also played for the Northern Lights Club team, which finished third at the AAU nationals...earned one letter in track in high school...made sectionals in track and field in the shotput.
Personal: Born August 20, 1990...daughter of Jim and Denise...full name is Alexa Lynn Manuel...has one brother (Jimmy)...favorite athlete is Misty May-Treanor...favorite movie is Legally Blonde...chose Buffalo because it gives her the best opportunity to be a great volleyball player and great student...lists her greatest athletic accomplishment as being honored by the USA National Team...would like to break the kills and blocks records at UB.
