2012: Played in 79 sets aftermissing the first two weeks of the season due to injury...recordeddouble-digit digs in 18 of her 22 matches during the season...had acareer-high 31 digs against Bowling Green (9/29)...finished theseason by record 20 or more digs in six of her final sevenmatches...had 28 digs against Ball State (10/27) and 26 digsagainst Dartmouth (9/14)...finished with a season-high three acesin the season finale against Kent State (11/10)...finished with 40assists on the year, including eight against Dartmouth (9/14)...wastwice named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week (9/17, 10/1) andnamed to all-tournament team of the Blue and WhiteInvitational.
2011: Saw action in 114 sets,leading the team in digs and service aces...finished with acareer-high 28 digs in a five-set win over Syracuse (9/16) as shewas named to the All-Tournament Team at the Blue and WhiteClassic...following the tournament, she was also named the MAC EastPlayer of the Week...recorded double figures in digs in all, butthree matches, going over the 20-dig mark seven times...had 23 digsin matches against Niagara (9/13), Cornell (9/17), Miami (OH)(9/30) and Akron (10/27)....also finished with a career-high fiveservice aces in a win over Brown (9/9).
2010: Played in 121 sets as theteams primary libero...led the team with 468 digs, which wasamongst tops in the Mid-American Conference...was named MAC EastDefensive Player of the Week twice in a row, the last two weeks ofthe season...recorded over 20 digs six times, including acareer-high 25 digs against West Virginia (8/28), Ohio (11/5) andAkron (11/11)...also had 24 digs in wins over Niagara (9/1) andArmy (9/19)...finished with 23 service aces, led by a career-highfour aces against Bryant (9/19)...had a career-high seven assistsagainst Ohio (11/5).
High School: Earned four letters andcaptained for two seasons for head coach Rusty Opper at TrinityHigh School... led the Cleveland Volleyball Club to the 2009National Championship in the 17’s NationalDivision...qualified for Nationals in each of the last threeyears...at Trinity High School, Svoboda played outside hitter whereshe recorded 326 kills and 609 digs on the year.... two-yearfirst-team All-Northeast District selection and has been on thehonor roll for every semester during high school.
Personal: Born May 16, 1992...daughter ofBill and Katie...full name is Kelly Ann Svoboda...has one brother(Billy)...favorite athlete is Phil Dalhausser and her favorite foodis pizza...was also recruited by Ohio State, Akron, ClevelandState, Coastal Carolina and Eastern Kentucky, but chose UB becauseof the academics, the beautiful campus and the great coachingstaff...lists her greatest athletic experience as winning Nationalsin 2009 with her Cleveland Volleyball Company 17 Black...would liketo set the UB school record for digs.
