Raman Sposato is in his first season as an assistant coach with the UB men's basketball program after being hired by head coach George Halcovage III in April.
Sposato most recently spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Denver. He made an immediate impact in his time with the Pioneers, helping to reshape the culture and environment while bringing his pro knowledge and skill development to Denver and had an instant impact with the players. He played a major role in the development of big man Robert Jones and had a hand in the growth of Ade Murkey, who garnered Second Team All-Summit League honors after averaging 18.6 points per game, the most by a DU player in over 15 years.
He joined Denver after spending three seasons at Tulane as an assistant coach under famed coach Mike Dunleavy Sr. While with the Green Wave, he was responsible for practice planning, skill development, scouting, game preparation and recruiting efforts.
Prior to his time at Tulane, Sposato spent the 2015-16 year as a regional scout for the Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets after serving as an assistant coach for the 2015 Developmental League Champion Santa Cruz Warriors. Before that, Sposato spent eight seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, helping serve as a player development coach. He began working in the league in 2003 for the Portland Trail Blazers as a video coordinator.
