Henry Lowe is in his first season as an assistant coach with the UB men's basketball program after being hired by head coach George Halcovage III in April.
A two-time national champion at Villanova, Lowe comes to Buffalo after four seasons at Fordham University, most recently serving as an assistant coach after spending his first two seasons as the Rams’ Director of Operations and Player Development.
With Lowe in this role, the Rams enjoyed their best season in more than three decades. Picked to finish 11th in the Atlantic 10, Fordham compiled a record of 25-8, including a 12-6 mark in conference. The Rams' 12 victories and .667 winning percentage set new high-water marks for the program's 28-year A-10 tenure. Fordham tied for second in the final A-10 standings, its highest-ever finish, and advanced to the semifinals of the league tournament for just the second time.
In 2021-22, Lowe helped lead the first phase of the program's turnaround. After winning a total of two games the year prior to the staff's arrival, the Rams finished 16-16 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the A-10 Tournament for the first time since 2007.
A four-year letterwinner at Villanova from 2012-16, Lowe immediately joined Jay Wright's coaching staff for two years as a graduate assistant upon completing his playing career. In his six years with Villanova as a player and staffer, Lowe helped the Wildcats to 184 victories, two national championships (2016 and 2018), four BIG EAST Regular Season Championships and three BIG EAST Tournament titles.
A double alumnus of Villanova, Lowe earned a bachelor's in communications with a business minor before completing his MBA with specializations in marketing and data analytics.
