
Lockport Native Brianna Delaney Added to 2026 Softball Roster

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball Head Coach Chelsea Plimpton announced the addition of Niagara transfer Brianna Delaney (Lockport, N.Y.) to the 2026 roster.
The Lockport native comes to Buffalo after starting in all 41 games for the Niagara Purple Eagles. On the year, she recorded 37 hits including four home runs. Delaney led the team with 27 RBIs, 10 doubles and nine stolen bases. On the basepaths, she stole season-high two bases against UMBC (Feb. 21). At the dish, Delaney tallied three RBIs against LIU (Mar. 10) and three base knocks against Iona (Apr. 8). Against Big 4 rival St. Bonaventure, she had a season-high four hits and four RBIs against St. Bonaventure (Apr. 23). Delaney recorded 11 multi-hit performances on the year. In her collegiate career, she has a .323 batting average and a .427 on base percentage. In her freshman season, she earned All-MAAC Rookie Team and All-MAAC Second Team honors.
During her time at Lockport, in five seasons of varsity softball at Lockport, Delaney hit .557 with 16 home runs, 76 RBI, and 42 stolen bases. She was a four-time All-State selection and an All-WNY selection in 2022.
