
Softball Adds Two Transfers in Delaney Ellis and Nicole Allen to the 2026 Roster

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball Head Coach Chelsea Plimpton announced the additions of Cleveland State transfer Delaney Ellis (Massillon, Ohio) and Stonybrook transfer Nicole Allen (Penfield, N.Y.) to the 2026 roster.
Ellis spent her freshman season with the Vikings where she appeared in 43 games with 41 starts. At the dish, she hit .296 for the Vikings, which was the fourth best mark on the team. Her 25 runs scored was second on the team as her 37 hits were third. She scored a team-high three runs against Valparaiso (Feb. 22). The infielder added eight extra base hits with four doubles, two triples and a pair of home runs. The freshman had an on base percentage of .357, good for fifth on the team. She knocked in 16 RBIs to go with her .408 slugging percentage.
Allen had a terrific freshman season with the Seawolves. She took home CAA All-Rookie Team honors as she was a two-time CAA Rookie of the Week (Mar. 31, Apr. 14). She finished third on the team with a .386 average and a 1.035 OPS. The outfielder recorded 23 RBIs and 19 runs as she tallied 11 extra-base hits with two home runs, one triple, and eight doubles. In the CAA Tournament against Campbell (May 1), she recorded her first multi-extra base hit game with a pair of doubles.
