
Women’s Tennis to Head to Ohio State for NCAA Tournament First Round

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team will head to Columbus, Ohio for the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament as the Bulls will face No. 4 seed Ohio State in the first round, the NCAA announced on Monday during the NCAA Women's Tennis Selection Show. The Bulls and Buckeyes will square off on Friday, May 2 at 1pm.
Buffalo enters the national tournament with a 20-7 overall record, their second consecutive 20-win season. The Bulls upset top-seed Miami (OH) before taking down Northern Illinois to win the Mid-American Conference tournament championship, their first since 2018 and fourth overall in program history.
This will be the second time that UB has played Ohio State in the NCAA tournament. The Buckeyes enter the NCAA Tournament with a 21-3 overall record and a 12-1 mark in Big Ten play. Ohio State defeated Michigan 4-3 in the Big Ten Tournament championship match.
Joining Buffalo and Ohio State in Columbus will be Notre Dame and UIC, who will play the opening first-round match at 10am. The winners of each contest will face off with a trip to the Round of 16 on Saturday afternoon at 4pm.
All matches feature free admission and parking and will take place outside at the Auer Tennis Complex, weather permitting.
