
Men’s Basketball Adds Frederiks Meinarts to the 2024 Incoming Class

BUFFALO, N.Y. – University at Buffalo men's basketball Head Coach George Halcovage III announced the signing of Frederiks Meinarts on Wednesday.
Meinarts attended IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., but the 7'0" forward/center is from Riga, Latvia. The Latvian native played for Rigas Zelli in the Latvian Estonian Basketball League. He also represented his home country at the 2022 U18 FIBA European Championship. During his time playing for Team Latvia, he averaged 15.4 minutes, 10.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.
"We are fired up to have Fredericks complete our 24-25 roster," exclaimed Head Coach George Halcovage III. "He's a skilled forward that brings a great basketball pedigree with him from his home country of Latvia and from his year playing at IMG Academy. We look forward to his arrival on campus soon!"
