
Men’s Basketball Announces Entire 2024 Incoming Freshman Class

BUFFALO, N.Y. – University at Buffalo men's basketball Head Coach George Halcovage III announced the entirety of his 2024 freshman class on Thursday. The class includes six incoming student-athletes in Sam Akot, Kavon Bradford, Brayden Jackson, Ben Michaels, Omar Migues-Hibeljic and Tim Oboh.
Sam Akot / Guard/Forward / 6'7" / 180 / London, Ontario / Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School
Akot attended Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School in Burlington, Ontario. He played for the Canada Topflight Academy National Gold team. The lengthy guard has the ability to knock down the three-ball and defend at a high level.
Kavon Bradford / Guard / 6'2" / 180 / Portland, Ore. / Benson Tech / Western Canada Prep Academy
Bradford attended Benson Tech in Portland, Ore., but this past season he spent time with the Western Canada Preparatory Academy (WCPA) in Edmonton, Alberta. While at WCPA, he averaged 20.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists while shooting over 39 percent from three-point range.
Brayden Jackson / Guard / 6'8" / 185 / Milton, Ontario / Fort Erie International Academy
Jackson attended Fort Erie International Academy (FEIA), just 30 minutes west of the UB campus. While at FEIA, Jackson helped lead the Falcons to the 2024 Canadian National Title. The 6'8" forward earned All-Canadian Honors in 2024 to go along with the national title.
Ben Michaels / Forward / 6'8" / 210 / Ipswich, England / Long Island Lutheran
Michaels played his high school career at Long Island Lutheran in Glen Head, N.Y. The 6'8" forward appeared in all 12 games for the Crusaders where he averaged 5.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. The England native also added 4 blocks and 8 steals on the season. Michaels helped the Crusaders to a 21-5 overall record including a 10-1 record in league play.
Omar Migues-Hibeljic / 6'5" / 180 / Montreal, Quebec / College Jean-De-Brebeuf
Migues-Hibeljic attended the College Jean-De-Brebeuf in Montreal, Quebec. During his time at College Jean-De-Brebeuf he averaged 16.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. In the 21-game season, he added 63 assists and 28 steals.
Tim Oboh / Center / 6'11" / 230 / Orpington, Great Britain / Canterbury Academy
Oboh, a 6'11" center, played for at Canterbury Academy and for the Kent Crusaders over the last five years. At Canterbury, he averaged just under 17 points and 12 rebounds per game in the EABL. He was crowned MVP in the EABL's Southern Conference. Oboh represented Great Britain at the U16 and U18 levels in the European Championship competitions.
