Bulls Host Northern Illinois on Senior Day

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (4-26, 2-15 MAC) will host the Northern Illinois Huskies (10-20, 4-13 MAC) for their final game of the 2023-24 season on Friday. The matchup between the Bulls and Huskies can be seen on ESPN+ with Paul Peck and UB Wall of Famer Turner Battle on the call. Over on the Varsity Network App and on 1520 Buffalo/1280 Rochester AM, Josh Whetzel and Bob Gaughan can be heard over the airwaves.
Be sure to head to Alumni Arena early as the Bulls will honor their three seniors, Jonnivius Smith, Isaiah Adams and Sy Chatman, at 6:45 p.m. prior to tip-off.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls are coming off a 78-66 home loss to the Ohio Bobcats on Tuesday evening. Sy Chatman inched his way closer to the 1,000-point milestone after a 25-point night against the Bobcats as he's at 993. Chatman added eight rebounds and three steals. Jonnivius Smith was the only other Bull to score in double figures with 10. Smith also had three steals and a game-high two blocks. Lloyd McVeigh had a MAC career-high eight boards in the game.
ABOUT THE SERIES
The Bulls lead all-time series against the Northern Illinois Huskies, 25-17. Buffalo has won the five of the last six meetings including a season sweep a year ago. The last time in the Bulls fell to the Huskies at home was on Jan. 4, 2020, by a score of 73-72. Overall, Buffalo is 22-10 in MAC play against the Huskies.
