Bulls Defeat Falcons in Sunday Thriller

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team defeated Bowling Green 4-3 in dramatic fashion on a beautiful afternoon at the UB Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon. With the win the Bulls improve to 19-6 overall and 5-3 in league play.
The Falcons took the first point of the match with victories at first and second doubles. Ambre Amat and Deanne Choo won 6-2 at third doubles.
The Bulls got off to a good start in singles action as Pia Schwarz won 6-2, 6-3 at first singles and Mariana Carvajal Torres followed with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at sixth singles.
The Falcons answered with a win at third singles to tie the match at two, but Gabriella Akopyan responded with a 6-3, 6-0 win at fifth singles to put UB up 3-2. Bowling Green tied the match with a three-set victory at second singles as the match came down to fourth singles where that match also went three-sets with Amat fighting back for a 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 victory.
Buffalo opens the final weekend of the regular season on Friday, April 21 at Toledo.
