BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team is back in action for a pair of Mid-American Conference contests this weekend as they will travel to Bowling Green on Friday before returning home to host Western Michigan on Senior Day at Miller Tennis Center on Sunday at 12pm.
The Bulls, who are tied for first in the Mid-American Conference standings at 6-0 in league play, are coming off a big 6-1 win over Toledo last week.
The Bulls present a balanced attack as all six players in their lineup have reached double digit win totals in singles play this season. Junior Julia Laspro has notched 17 victories, followed by sophomores Blanca Berges (16) and Liv Roestel (15). In doubles action, Andresen and Glowacka lead the Bulls with 19 wins, including a 14-6 mark in dual action, and Hartel and Laspro are close behind with 14 wins, including 11 in dual action.
Bowling Green (8-10, 1-4 MAC) sits in seventh place in the MAC standings. They are coming off a 5-2 loss at Western Michigan last week. The Falcons picked up their first conference win in two years back on March 20, defeating Eastern Michigan 4-3. Tia Clemons leads the Falcons with a 10-8 singles record on the season.
Western Michigan (12-6, 3-2 MAC), is tied for third in the standings. They enter the weekend on a two-match win streak with wins over Ball State and Bowling Green. The doubles team of Frida Weijerman and Marielou Baudouin are a perfect 9-0 overall in dual matches this spring and 5-0 in MAC play.
