
Three Bulls Highlight All-MAC Postseason Honors

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team continued its recent dominance on a number of specialty awards as three UB players were awarded Mid-American Conference postseason honors, the league announced on Wednesday morning.
Senior Davonta Jordan was named the MAC's Defensive Player of the Year, the third time in the last four seasons that Buffalo has won the award, while sophomore Ronaldo Segu was named the league's Sixth Man of the Year, the fourth straight year it has gone to a Bull. Jordan was also named to the All-MAC Defensive Team for the third straight year. Junior Jayvon Graves was named a first-team All-MAC selection, the third straight season the Bulls have had a member on the first team.
Jordan was one of the top defenders in the country this season as he led the MAC with 67 steals and added 25 blocks, which was amongst the top 10 in the league. While continuing to play strong defense, Jordan also had the best offensive season of his career as he averaged 11.5 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per contest and 5.3 assists per game. He was just one of four players nationally to average over five rebounds, five assists, and two steals per game.
For his career, Jordan moved into second place in school history in career assists with 522 and fourth place in career steals with 179.
Segu came off the bench in all 32 games as he averaged 8.1 points per game this past season. Segu, who had a career high 21 points against Harvard, was playing some of his best basketball over the last week as the sophomore had 11 points at Bowling Green and finished with 20 points on Monday night against Miami. In his sophomore season, Segu set career bests for scoring, rebounding, and assists, while shattering his freshman mark for minutes played.
Graves led the Bulls in scoring at 17.1 points per game as he broke the school record for field goals attempted in a season, while his 204 field goals made are third most in a single seasons. Graves also notched a career best of 5.4 rebounds per game.
Graves became the 23rd player in school history to record 1,000 career points and he currently sits in 18th place on the all-time scoring list with 1,080 points. He scored in double figures in all but three games this season, highlighted by a career best 33 points in Buffalo's double overtime win at Kent State.
In all, the Bulls have now won Sixth Man of the Year five times in school history, tied with Akron for the most in league history. Buffalo has won Defensive Player of the Year three times and Graves becomes the 13th first-team selection for UB.
