Bulls Ink Zaakir Williamson To National Letter of Intent

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo head men's basketball coach Jim Whitesell has announced the addition of Zaakir Williamson, who signed his National Letter of Intent and will join the Bulls for the 2021-22 season.
Williamson, a 6-7 center/power forward, comes the Bulls from Philadelphia, PA where he will play his senior season of high school ball at Neumann Goretti High School, one of the top high schools in the nation. Rivals.com, which has Williamson listed as a center, has him ranked as the 40th best player in the nation at that position.
Last season, Williamson played for Rock Creek Christian Academy in Maryland, where he averaged 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game.
"Zaakir is a skilled big man who has tremendous upside to his game," said Whitesell. "He does a really nice job finishing around the rim, and he can also play as a stretch 4, while shooting the three. We are very excited for the potential we see in this young man. We have a long history at UB of developing All-MAC caliber big men, and we believe Zaakir is the next individual in that group. AT did a great job identify Zaakir early in the recruiting process and getting him here to Buffalo."
