BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo head women's tennis coach Kristen Maines has announced the addition of Mariana Carvajal Torres, who signed a letter of intent with the Bulls during the recent national signing period.
Torres, who chose Buffalo because of the family atmosphere and the successes of the women's tennis program, comes to Western New York from Pereira, Columbia. She has reached an ITF singles ranking as high as 795, while in doubles action her WTA ranking is 1302.
"I'm very excited about Mariana joining our UB family," said Maines. "She has all the intangibles that elite athletes possess. She's already an incredibly accomplished athlete and she has so much room to grow into a top notch conference player!"
