Three Bulls Garner All-Big 4 Honors

BUFFALO, NY – Three University at Buffalo men's basketball players were named to the Preseason All-Big 4 team, it was announced on Monday afternoon. Senior Davonta Jordan and junior Jayvon Graves were named to the first team, while sophomore Jeenathan Williams was named a second-team selection.

Jordan is back for his fourth season in a UB uniform where he started 35 of the 36 games last season as the team's point guard. He had his finest season as a Bull during his junior campaign where he averaged 7.4 points per game and finished with 130 assists.

Graves was named to the preseason All-MAC East team last week by the league's head coaches. Graves finished fourth on the team in scoring last season as he averaged 9.7 points per game, while starting 35 of the 36 games for the 32-4 Bulls. He added 4.2 rebounds per contest and 67 assists. He scored in double figures 17 times last season, including a career high 26 points against Ohio. He finished with 17 points in the MAC Championship win against Bowling Green and added 13 points in Buffalo's NCAA Tournament First Round victory over Arizona State.

Williams is expected to have a breakout season for the Bulls this year after seeing action in all 36 games last year as a freshman. He had a season high 13 points against Ohio, while also recording eight rebounds in that game against the Bobcats. Overall, he averaged 3.2 points per game and 1.7 rebounds per contest.

Joining Graves and Jordan on the first team are Malik Johnson from Canisius and Osun Osunniyi and Kyle Lofton from St. Bonaventure. Lofton named the preseason Big 4 Player of the Year.

Joining Williams on the second team are Raheem Soloman and James Towns from Niagara, Scott Hitchon from Canisius and Dominick Welch from St. Bonaventure.

Buffalo will tip off its 2019-20 season on Friday night when the Bulls host Dartmouth at 7pm.
