
Tanja Stojanvoska Named MAC Scholar Athlete Of The Week

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's tennis sophomore Tanja Stojanovska has been named the MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
An exercise science major with a 3.778 GPA, Stojanovska was named first-team All-MAC and then named to the MAC Tournament All-Tournament team after an impressive performance this past weekend. Stojanovska dominated the 2016 MAC Player of the Year in the MAC quarterfinals 6-0, 6-3 as UB defeated Akron. In the MAC Semifinals against top-ranked Ball State, Stojanovska had another straight sets victory with a 6-1, 6-4 win at first singles.
In doubles, Stojanovska teamed up with junior Margarita Kotok and they had an easy 6-0 win over Akron and then they clinched the doubles point against Ball State with a 7-6 (3) win to give the Bulls the early lead in the match.
In addition to her postseason honors, Stojanovska has also been named MAC Singles Player of the Week this season and was named part of the MAC Doubles Team of the Week. She finished her sophomore campaign with a 24-9 record in singles play and a 22-6 mark in doubles action.
