
Bulls Open UConn Invitational With Sweep Of Quinnipiac

STORRS, CT – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York women's tennis team opened play at the UConn Invitational with a sweep of Quinnipiac on Saturday night. The Bulls were playing in a 4:1 format, which consisted of four singles matches and one doubles contest.
In doubles action, UB's top duo of Margarita Kotok and Dayana Agasieva came away with a 6-4, 6-2 victory, while the Bulls won all of their singles matches in straight sets. Sophomore Tanja Stojanovska won her singles contest, 6-4, 6-4, while freshman Chantal Martinez Blanco won, 6-4, 7-5.
Junior Laura Holterbosch picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win in her singles match, while freshman Sanjana Sudhir won her match, 7-5, 6-2. Freshman Mercedes Losada Rubio played an exhibition contest, which she won easily, 6-2, 6-1.
The Bulls will play two more contests in the 4:1 format on Sunday, beginning at 8:45 am with Bryant. The Bulls will then play UConn on Sunday afternoon.
